Rural Capers Group is excited to announce the next phase in our development: the launch of the Alpaca Project. With the recent completion of our gîte/apartment project—now open and welcoming guests—we are eager to continue expanding our offerings and enhancing the visitor experience.
Our focus now shifts to creating a unique and memorable Alpaca Experience. Plans are underway for the construction of several thoughtfully designed paddocks to accommodate a small, colourful herd of alpacas. These charming and gentle animals will offer visitors the chance to connect with them up close, whether stopping by briefly or spending more time on the property.
The Alpaca Experience Centre will provide a rare opportunity for guests—especially those who may never have encountered alpacas before—to engage with them in an intimate and guided setting. Visitors will be able to enjoy personal walks with the alpacas in small groups, set against the scenic backdrop of our grounds, complete with optional sandwich packs for a delightful day out.

We're Teaming Up with Alpaca Adventure UK
We’re excited to announce that The Rural Capers Group has joined forces with Alpaca Adventure UK to bring our Alpaca Project to life right here in Haute-Vienne, France—and to help grow the alpaca market across both France and the UK.
Alpaca Adventure UK is run by the fantastic Wendy Williams, who brings over a decade of experience in the alpaca industry. Based on the Dorset/Wiltshire border, Wendy has built an award-winning alpaca walking business and is well-connected in the alpaca world. We’re looking forward to bringing her expertise to France as we develop something just as special here.
Our main focus is to create a thriving Alpaca Walking experience in France and support Alpaca Adventure UK’s growth. But we’re not stopping there—we’re also exploring exciting opportunities in the events space, such as weddings, aged care centre visits, and more.
On top of that, alpacas produce a beautiful, lightweight fleece with amazing thermal properties, well-loved in the craft and fashion industries. We’re aiming to get these unique products out to a wider audience and spread the word about just how special alpaca fibre really is.
