The History Of "The Old Piggery" gite
Wisteria Cottage, originally constructed as a farmhouse, featured a unique and practical design tailored to the needs of early agricultural life. The farmhouse included an attached piggery, reflecting the integration of living and farming spaces. A large wood-fired bread oven was strategically situated between the farmhouse and the piggery. This oven served a dual purpose: it baked the daily bread requirements for the farmer and the local community and simultaneously provided heat to the piggery, illustrating an efficient use of resources and space in the farm's operation. The multifunctional bread oven highlights the ingenuity in the design of traditional farmhouses, where every component served multiple purposes to support the daily needs of both the residents and their livestock."The Old Piggery" Gite has a rich history that dates back to the 18 century. Originally used as a pigsty, it was later converted into a charming holiday home that retains many of its original features. With rustic charm and peaceful surroundings, "The Old Piggery" Gite is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle everyday life and enjoy a relaxing break in the French countryside.
